ASSOCIATION : A JOURNEY FROM 90s TO 2010 AND ONWARDs

Dear friends, every week we will be bringing at least one article as ARTICLE OF THE WEEK from a dynamic member of our fraternity. This week an article by Sh. Ajay kumar Jha, Sr. Translator is throwing light on the history of CSOLS' Translators' Association and exposing the modus operandi of present office bearers of association. He has successfully highlighted all burning issues which are plaguing our cadre since long.

ASSOCIATION  :  A JOURNEY FROM 90s TO 2010 AND ONWARDs

CSOLS Translators’ Association was formed perhaps in the year 1990 with the objective of protecting the various interests of junior and Senior Hindi Translators in the matters of better service conditions and working environment so as to make this service an attractive one and also to make it respectful for the highly qualified new entrants .
Unfortunately, over the years, the functionaries of the Association have degenerated themselves into a group of selfish and visionless people restricting their activities to personal benefits like getting their posting in offices light in terms of workload, collecting money from its members on every occasion and grossly misusing the fund collected for the benefits of the few near and dear ones, victimizing those who speak against them etc. to say the least.
In this scenario, an urgent need to hold election for the posts of the Association has been felt by rank and file of the cadre. It is pertinent to mention here that the election for the various posts of the Association was last held way back in the year 1997. It is anybody’s guess why election has not been held since then?
Given the present pathetic state of affairs of the Association, we like to draw your kind attention towards some of the following meritorious issues pertaining to our cadre and seek you support:
(1)    The issue of granting Grade Pay of Rs. 4600 to JUNIOR TRANSLATORS is still unsolved.

(2)     The issue of regularization of senior translators (Ad-hoc) is far from getting solved.

(3)    The issue of promoting JHT to SHT is entangled because of non production/submission of major and minor penalties for the last 10 years.

(4)    No request for acceding to the demand of holding limited departmental examination for JHT for the post of AD (OL) has been sent to Dept. of Official Language.

(5)    No statement of income and expenditure of the Association has ever been shown or produced in the General Body Meeting.

(6)    No election to the various posts of the Association has been declared/held since 1997.

(7)    Miscellaneous issues

Hence the need to press for a positive change is imminent.  Join us for your own interests and show your unity and solidarity with us.
Thanking you.
